Event Description
One of our dancers, Sally, has a house and a party boat out on Lake Choctaw, just west of Columbus near London, OH, and she's invited us all to come spend the day relaxing and enjoying. No time details yet....just wanted to get an idea of who might be interested in having fun this day. RSVP as soon as you can! Let's all hang out as a team and have a great day together! It will be a potluck, though Yellow Rose is likely to spring for some food as well. We'll send out an Evite once we know folks are interested in this date.
Sally will add directions to her house below in the comments and we'll have that on the Evite as well. Only 10 people can get on the boat at a time, so we'll have fun stuff to do on the shore as well, depending on how many of us go.

Sounds like fun. The plant should be shut down that weekend, so Chris could attend as well. As it stands right now we have nothing going on around 4th of July.

We have three kayaks (one is a Hobie with pedals and sail, a stand up paddle board, a sea cycle, etc., and there is beach volleyball on the beach. Of course, there is also swimming, and the slide going off the top deck of the boat. I'll try to make sure no spiders come along (Adam is still freaked out by the spiders that were on the boat last time). Our house is not on the lake, so I think we should meet at Choctaw Beach. That way, people don't have to come at a certain time and can join us whenever they get there. There are restrooms at the beach, and people should bring coolers for their food. We'll try to snag one or two cabanas on the beach. You might want to bring folding chairs as well, and a volleyball if you have one. I'm thinking we can meet at the beach any time starting at 10 or 11 a.m.??? Here are directions: Take 70 West to exit 72 (Route 56) Turn right at the end of the ramp, and take the first right (Old Columbus Road). After the Marathon station, turn left into the Choctaw Lake community, and take a right after the guard shack. Follow Chickasaw Drive to where it curves left by the marina. Go straight ahead toward the lodge instead of curving left, and the beach is right past the lodge. Should we have a rain date?

Since there aren't that many people coming, you don't need to bring a cooler for your food. We have a cooler large enough for anything that needs to be kept cold. I will provide lots of water and ice as well as instant iced tea people can add to their water as they like (we have a reverse osmosis filter on our sink). We have abundant plates, silverware, napkins, glasses, etc. I'll also provide crackers and cheese and watermelon. I'l be down at the beach by 10:30 a.m., so any time from then on is fine. You may stay as late as you want. We have lights on the boat for after dark.
