After popular demand, we're bringing back the Buckeye Rewind Traditional Workshop for a second year, and to spice up the fun, we're adding a Totally '80s room — all '80s music routines all day long. We're in the Galbreath Pavilion Rooms 1 and 2 underneath the historic Ohio Theater (Go into the alleyway on the left of the theater. The Galbreath entryway is past the lighted doorway on the right.)
We feature Scotty Bilz once again, who gave us such a great traditional experience last year. And this year we're adding Rob and Melissa Pack from Tennessee. Traditional clogging runs through their veins! They'll all have a teach or two in the '80s room as well, and we'll add some local instructors for some added flavor.
All the information can be found on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/events/374327229365155/. You can request a workshop flier by emailing Adam at tapman77@aol.com.
Our host hotel is the Sheraton Columbus at Capitol Square, which is directly across the street from the workshop. Rates are $139 per night plus tax with king and doubles available (a cheerleading convention that weekend has bumped up the rates this year). Just tell them you're with the Buckeye Rewind workshop. We're also negotiating with another hotel, and we hope to post that info soon.
It costs daily to park downtown (about $9 on the weekend per day).
Registration is $20 before March 5; $23 after and at the door. We'll also be taking pre-orders for lunch at $7 each, which will include a sandwich, chips, drink, fruit and granola bar.
All of Yellow Rose is encouraged to attend this special workshop! We're putting this on so you get an appreciation for clogging's roots and traditional styles.
I will be there. I just wanted to mention that letting people know the parking is undground may help people locate it easier. I know its hard to realize the parking garage is underground so know that and what street you cane enter into at may be very helpful for people un aware of columbus area . I am not sure if I ordered lunch but YES I would like ot order a lunch that day
