Tucked in the Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina, this is one of the traditional places cloggers have gathered over the years to enjoy camaraderie and dancing. You'll dance on an old-timey wooden floor where such steps as the Rocking Chair were created. A good portion of the team has indicated they are expecting to go this year, so I'm putting this up for Yellow Rose to consider.
Cabins are available for rent (a cheap stay...about $100 per person for the entire weekend) with kitchens. A hotel also is on the premises. You can see all the instructors and download a registration flier at http://fontanaworkshop.com.
It's a gorgeous location. I've been there several times and enjoyed every trip. You won't find another place to attend a clogging workshop like this.
I think the plan is for people to leave on Thursday the 20th to drive down. If you plan on going, get in touch with Erin and she'll fill you in on the team plans.
We need to know for sure by July 30th if you are going to attend or not. As of right now, we are going to need to get additional rooms at the lodge or an additional cabin for the number of people that have verbally responded to attending this workshop. One cabin is already booked. I will start collecting money for the lodging on Sunday, August 12th.
I booked a room in the hotel that has two queen beds in it . I thought i would book it since they only had 3 cabins left and two hotel rooms. The room can always be canceled is what I thought. I am ok staying in the hotel and at this time I am thinking geraldine and possibly jo may be rooming in hotel. We will wait and see how it all plays out and what is going to be the best way to stay there
