Event Description

We always have fun on this trip to gorgeous Brown County (the leaves change this time of year for a splendid view), though we do get up at the crack of dawn to make the drive out there on Saturday. We'll stay over Saturday and come back Sunday late afternoon. It's always fun to walk around the shops in Nashville, and we can't miss out eating breakfast at the restaurant with THE best oatmeal you've ever had!

The workshop itself, which runs from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. with a fun dance and exhibitions from 5:30-7 p.m., features Jeff Driggs, Deiter Brown, Scott Dobson and Naomi Fleetwood-Pyle....a great crop to learn from. Looks like this year they also will be teaching country line dancing and have a 30-minute bluegrass concert after the workshop. We can exhibition something here if you guys like (maybe Smooth Criminal if we have it done and lookin' good).

Hotels include Brown County Inn (812.988.2291), Seasons Inn (812.988.2284) or Salt Creek Inn (812.988.7888). Reserve early since rooms sell out fast. In the past we ended up staying 15 minutes away because the hotels were cheaper, but I'll go with the flow. Entry is $25 if registered before Oct. 15; $30 at the door. Spectators are $5, syllabus is $5 and video cameras are $10 to register.

Directions: Take I-70 to Indianapolis, then 670 South to I-65 South. Exit the Columbus/Nashville exit (State Route 46 West) and drive into Nashville. The convention center is on the right before getting into town.

Does everyone usually carpool to this event? If so, I would like to attend but I won't drive that far by myself.

Yes, we usually carpool. And that restaurant really does have the BEST oatmeal!

I am going, I will probably ask some of my Wildfire Team also. Staying over Friday and Sat., sounds better to me. I've been to this workshop when they had it years and years ago. I know, that's "dating me". Nashville, Ind. has lots of shops and is very quaint. I love oatmeal, I want some.

Hey Linda & Shirley,
I won't be at class next week but wanted to see if we are still on for the trip to IN. I did get the day off from work so I can leave anytime on Friday. Let me know if you are still planning on going and we can finalize our plans either through here or at class on Oct 18th.
Thanks, Donna

Hey Linda and Donna:
Sorry, I can not attend this workshop. My car broke down Thursday evening and I had to have it towed. The car is running, I am taking the car today for more "checkups" and money. Hopefully Linda talked to you yesterday at class, and you can still attend. Shirley

I think this workshop is really a good one, Maybe we can plan on making it big next year so we can dance out Smooth Criminal. It would be GREAT to see a dozen or more going next year . The shopping in that little town is sooo COOL !!! and there is a restaurant there that has really YUMMY OATMEAL TOO !!! I will miss that for sure
